About Me

I have taken to two feet much more frequently since leaving work in the summer of 2019, exploring more of the countryside around me.  It was already very familiar from many cycle rides out around the lanes but walking gives a completely different perspective and is slow enough to encourage much more stopping and looking.  I have been interested in landscape and history for a long time, always curious about what can be seen and what that tells us about who came before us.  I completed a Masters Degree in Landscape History in 2014, providing a formal background and a little more expertise to my curiosity. Now I am trying to set down what I see and experience on my walks, combined with some background research to try and answer the questions I have.
